Elegant, timeless, relaxing… Saga Sapphire is all these things but with lots of personality too. A small ship carrying no more than 720 passengers, she is delightfully intimate with a genuine country club atmosphere. She manages to combine all the delights of classic cruising – including that all-important afternoon tea – with several contemporary twists.
To complement the exclusive Maritime Memories activities, there’s plenty to do aboard Saga Sapphire. With its stripy beach huts and deck chairs, the Beach Club recalls the golden age of British seaside resorts. Elsewhere, enjoy crazy golf, deck quoits and other traditional pastitmes. Sumptuous food prepared to perfection is one of the traditions of a classic cruise. Maritime Memories guests will enjoy dining together in Saga Sapphire’s main Pole to Pole restaurant, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meal and catch up with old friends.
In the stylish bars, the refreshingly low prices range from £2.90 a pint for a pint of Spitfire Ale to £3.45 for a G&T – comparable to your local pub! Cooper’s is dedicated to the legendary comic hero Tommy Cooper, while the décor of Aviator’s celebrates the heroes of the skies. The Drawing Room is the venue for our live pianist.
Following a multi-million pound refit, Saga Sapphire now boasts some of the most spacious accommodation afloat. Averaging 220 square feet, her standard cabins are a good 50 square feet larger than the industry standard. And although the great ships of old may have offered you an en suite bathroom, a dressing table or writing desk, a wardrobe and a safe – and even a mini-fridge, telephone and hairdryer – they may not have included Saga Sapphire’s flat-screen television and DVD player! You’ll also enjoy complimentary luxury toiletries, bathrobes and 24-hour room service.
The Drawing Room is a great place to relax, admire panoramic views and take advantage of free Wi-Fi. The Britannia Lounge is the venue for afternoon tea, music recitals and much more. As the sun sets, singers, musicians and the ship’s theatre company take to the stage to provide dazzling entertainment – and the folk theme should make this cruise especially memorable! The Academy hosts informative lectures while the Library contains a wide selection of books and DVDs.
To make choosing your cabin as simple as possible, cabins are colour coded. That way, you can see at a glance the general location and facilities of the cabin grade you prefer.
Deck plans are for guidance only, are not to scale, and are subject to change or alteration. Please note: The grading system for Saga Sapphire is not directly comparable to Saga Pearl II.
