Plans for future Voyages

We really try our best to listen to what all our Snowbow/Maritime Memory people say when it comes to arranging these special Maritime Memory Voyages, But as you know, we live in an age when no-one really listens anymore, so for us to get the voyages you would really like is quite a struggle, but I’m pleased to say that Maritime Memories has created such a stir around the world that we can now do a great deal to make your wishes come true.

As a result of all this, here are the voyages we are planning for 2010/11, which I know will please so many of you:

Christmas/New Year 2010/11

The voyage we did to Murmansk in July was so very special, but perhaps the one voyage that everyone enjoyed so much was the one we did over the Christmas/New Year, when we sailed down to Rio and Buenos Aires…that was fantastic and ever since that voyage, you have asked us to try to arrange another Christmas/New Year Voyages so, for 2010/11 we are planning to sail the Caribbean, taking us into some of those fascinating Central American countries such as Belize, Costa Rica and Mexico as well as the less trodden Islands such as Aruba, and, especially for me….Curacao, where I first put my little toes into the warmth of a tropical sea.

This is going to be a very popular voyage and I promise you all, we will have a Christmas and New Year like never before… great celebrations, great fun, great food and wonderful locations with great, great company; now that sounds good to me.

April 2011

Perhaps the most popular regular sea voyage we have managed to do is the crossing from the Caribbean to the UK, which gives us those wonderful sea-days, which is something so difficult to get there days: (Modern cruise passengers seem to hate days at sea and instead, like to spend every day in port, which seems ridiculous to me but unfortunately, that’s what most cruise lines tend to cater for now!)  Well, just about every one of our thousands of Snowbow/Maritime Memory people prefer those days at sea and so that’s what we have on this special voyage.  We plan to sail from the Bahamas to Grand Turk and then out to sea, heading back home to the UK via the Azores.

You know, when I was at sea we only ever sailed straight past the Azores without stopping, and I always wondered just what those magnificent looking islands were really like; well I can tell you, they are really special and a place that everyone should try to visit at least once in their lives.

But what I will enjoy most about this voyage, and I know the same will go for you as well, are those days at sea; days when we can really enjoy the excitement, adventure and being back out there on the ocean.  No need to hurry, no need to rush; just taking out time and enjoying the sounds and wonders of the wide open ocean.

It also gives us so much more time to provide great maritime talks by top maritime speakers, as well as time to have lots of special shows where we can show more rare archive film of shipping, film that in most cases has never been shown in public before.

We’ll also have lots of parties and special Maritime Memory Dinners, where we take menus from the old liners and recreate evening meals from them, giving us the same high-class gourmet dinners that were once served up to the rich and famous aboard such famous liners as the Queen Mary and the Normandie.

We’ll also have at the end of our voyage our very own “Channel’s Night Fancy Dress Ball”, just as they used to years ago, as ships neared the English Channel after a long, long voyage across the world.

And of course, the most important thing of all will be having days at sea that give us the time to enjoy the company of all our wonderful Maritime Memories friends….and that is something very special; just sitting out there on deck in the evening, enjoying a nice relaxing drink and listening to the soothing sounds of the passing ocean and looking up into the wonderful experience of a tropical sky at night, ablaze with stars for as far as the eyes can see.

Now that does bring back some wonderful memories for me and, you must admit, does sound just a little special. So, turn back the hands of time with us and let’s enjoy life while we can.  Oh, I almost forgot…we also get all this at a special low rate just for all us Maritime Memories people…which helps even more to make it something very special.

South America and Panama

The ship will also be sailing all the way around South America and through the Panama Canal, and although for logistical reasons we can’t arrange for these voyages to be Maritime Memory themed, as you are still part of Maritime Memories you will get a special welcome aboard and I know you will enjoy every special mile of the voyage.

For further information on these voyages just give us a call on:  00 (0) 1273 585391 or email me at: des@snowbow.co.uk but remember, you must book with us direct if you want to enjoy all that we as Maritime Memories can  give.

Kind regards,

Des.
